After being named one of the most innovated DJ's in the Northeast, DJ Tek has come a long way from being called your typical DJ. Getting an early start at the age of 9, DJ Tek was endowed with a full blown studio after his grandfather's untimely death. From producing early in the game and having a knack for electronics the young producer became creating music for the streets. By the age of 14, "Tek" was producing beats and playing music for crowds throughout the Northeast. The same year he got his hands on a set of Gemini turntables which opened up a new world to the young man. As time progressed he began to integrate all his equipment into his performances, a feat that he still does to this day. Now DJ Tek is seen rocking concerts, parties, and shows with a variety of equipment ranging from his turntables and CD turntables, to his keyboards, beat machines and effects processors.

Tek was headed for the industry when he found his mentor DJ Finesse. DJ Finesse took DJ Tek under his wing and taught him what it took to become a successful DJ. Tek took these jewels and landed his first radio gig at 95.5 WBRU/RI .After DJ'ing there doors opened up for him everywhere, his talent became a wanted asset throughout his area. He began working with bigger radio stations and found his niche, shows and mixtapes.

DJ Tek has opened for some of the biggest acts in the music industry. Opening up for Nas, LL Cool J, Cam'ron, Guru (from Gangstarr), Rahzel, Mario and B2K, wasn't being at the right place time, but more so him hustling hard and achieving his dreams. He currently DJ's regularly in the New England, with weekly gigs in Providence, RI, Boston MA, and Hartford CT.

And with that being said you can probably find DJ Tek touring and DJ'ing at a venue near you. Currently Tek is working on his attention demanding "Don't Sweat the Teknique" mixtape series. Quote by the master himself Justo (RIP) as "... are [an] innovative DJ..." he continues to live up to his own legacy. When he's not working on tapes or doing radio Tek aka the BeatProphet is cooking up beat in the laboratory for his world respected label, Beatknockaz Productions. During his down time he spends time teaching at risk youth in the New England area about the hip-hop culture. "I have to give back what once was giving to me"-Tek
